Across the volunteer world, roughly one in three don’t return from one year to the next. A named spot, a clear job, and a yes they gave you is the cheapest retention program that exists. That’s what the Brief is.
Students won’t download your app. So we didn’t build them one.
You write one message with a name tag in it. Every student gets a personal text with a Magic Link. One tap opens the page (no login, no install), and when they reply, it comes back to you, not into a void.

Check a student in once, and every roster that cares fills in on its own, their small group included. No printed lists, no re-typing attendance tomorrow morning. And when somebody quietly misses two weeks, you actually find out.

Half this product started as somebody venting.
The best feature ideas come from youth pastors describing their Wednesday in a forum thread at midnight. We read those. Then we build the thing.

So: Check a student in at the door and their small group attendance fills in automatically. One system, so there’s nothing to sync.

Do students need to download anything?
No. Students get texts with Magic Links: one tap opens the page, no app, no login. Their messaging app is the whole student experience, on purpose.
We already use Planning Center. Does LockIn replace it?
LockIn is built specifically for the youth night, the part general church software treats as an afterthought. The Church Community Builder import is built and in testing now, and everything else comes in from a spreadsheet. Planning Center isn't built yet, and when you sign up we ask which tools you use. That answer sets the order we build them in.
Is my students' data safe?
Safety is built into how it works: two-adult visibility on every leader–student thread, append-only message logs, enforced quiet hours, and explicit SMS consent. Read the privacy policy for the full picture.
