FAQ

Fair questions, straight answers.

When does LockIn launch?

We're onboarding founding ministries now, in small batches, so we can set each one up properly. Join the list and you'll hear the moment your spot opens.

What does LockIn cost?

$15 a month. One plan, everything in it: the Flow, your roster, The Brief, check-in, birthdays, and texting from your ministry's own number. No per-student pricing, no feature tiers, no add-ons. Founding ministries lock that rate in and get plenty of warning before anything changes.

Can I try it before I pay?

Yes. You can plan The Flow, build your roster, send The Brief to your volunteers, and run check-in before you put a card down. The one thing that waits is texting, because it runs on a dedicated number reserved for your ministry and that number costs us money every month whether you send one message or a thousand. Until then everything reaches people by email. Nothing about your setup changes when texting turns on.

Do students need to download anything?

No, and they never will. Students get texts with Magic Links: one tap opens event details, RSVPs, or forms with no login. Their messaging app is the entire student experience, by design. Students do not download youth group apps; we stopped pretending otherwise.

We already use Planning Center / Breeze / a church management system. Does LockIn replace it?

LockIn runs the youth night, the part general church software treats as a side module. The Church Community Builder import is built and in testing with the first churches, so students, parents, and their family links come across in one step; everything else imports from a spreadsheet today. Whether LockIn replaces or complements your current stack depends on what you use it for, which is exactly why the signup survey asks which tools matter to you. Those answers set the order we build the next integrations in.

How does LockIn protect students?

Safety is built into the architecture: leader–student threads are visible to the youth pastor by default (the two-adult rule), message logs are append-only and cannot be quietly edited or deleted, quiet hours block student texts late at night, and SMS consent is explicit, logged, and instantly revocable.

Do you sell data? Is there AI reading my messages?

No and no. We do not sell personal information, and LockIn does not generate message content or run AI over your conversations. Your words to your students are yours.

We're a small ministry. Is this overkill?

LockIn is built by someone running a normal-sized ministry, not a megachurch product trickling down. If your Wednesday has a plan, volunteers, and students, it fits. Fifteen students deserve a great night as much as a hundred and fifty.

Who's behind LockIn?

LockIn is built by Hey Hud LLC. In practice, that means a youth pastor who runs his own weekly youth night on it. Every feature ships to his students, volunteers, and parents before it ships to yours.
