Text students and parents
One number for your ministry, consent built in, and quiet hours on by default.
Students won't download your app. Their messages app is the one place they already live, so that's where LockIn meets them.
Your ministry gets one number
When your subscription starts, LockIn provisions a dedicated phone number for your ministry. Every text you send comes from it, and every reply goes back to it.
One number matters more than it sounds. Parents save it once. Students recognize it. And when a family has kids in two ministries that both use LockIn, replies still land with the right one.
On the free trial there's no number yet, and messages send by email instead. The number is provisioned the moment your plan starts. Nothing else about your setup changes.
Consent comes first
A student is textable only after their family opts in. That's the law for texting minors, and LockIn enforces it instead of leaving it to memory:
- Students you import start as not textable unless you attest the families agreed.
- A student who joins through your link opts in themselves as part of signing up.
- If anyone ever texts STOP, LockIn marks them opted out immediately and keeps a record. You don't have to do anything.
Sending
Open Messages, write once, and pick who it goes to: everyone, a group, or one person. Siblings who share a phone get one combined text, not three copies.
Every send is logged with its delivery status, so "did that actually go out?" has an answer you can look at.
Quiet hours
By default LockIn won't text families between 9pm and 7am.
If you hit send late, it asks what you meant: send now anyway, or schedule for 7am. Late-night pickup change? Send now. Everything else can sleep. The window is yours to adjust in Settings → Notifications.
What about replies?
Replies land in Messages as conversations. When a message needs a real human, you'll see it and answer like a person, from the same number the family already knows.
